I've stencil stripped a couple of ex-members old screens, and admired some of todays members mesmerising work. Here one of the memembers is prepping a silk painting sample that she'll later on screen print directly onto some fabric. Fey shows us the steps in this mini video: Dye Technique
As you can probably imagine the print studio incredibly messy, although I find the paint splatters quite intriguing. Holly tells me a member used one of the backing cloths as their main fabric for their collection, recycling done well.
Today was my first day staring as a freshly new intern for Printall studios. The wonderfull Holly Clarke my boss, gave me a one to one talk through the all important induction into understanding how the process of screen printing is like from start to finish. My job is technically involves me being a trainee technician, helping out members, cleaning out screens and making sure products are tipped and ready to send off to customers. Printall have also given me the exciting job to run their social media platform, in which I updated the process into creating a screen from start to finish.
